Desolation Row 25 Favorite Platters of 2017

My apologies for the delay in getting this list up. 2017 was a year of great releases and I was listening to records right up until the last minute considering and reconsidering the albums on this list. This could have easily been four times as long (and at one point it was!). This wasn't a year of incomparable masterpieces seemingly released weekly like 2016 was. Instead it was a year of incredibly rich and wonderful records that maybe announced themselves a bit more quietly than those of last year, but were incredibly beautiful and noisy and funny and heartbreaking and catchy and weird. There were many more albums that could have been on this list, but here's where I landed on Christmas afternoon. ~ kc

ps. We've been remiss at The Row in posting new arrivals here at the shop. Time constraints have prevented my doing that and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. However, starting in January we'll inaugurate a Ten Spins feature listing ten favorite records that we've been spinning and can't get enough of! Stay tuned!!
